Studying NTU offer many opportunities, such as taking one major degree (plus up to 2 minor degree, if you are interested), two major degree, double degree, exchange etc. For example, my degree in Applied Physics, in SPMS (School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences). I managed to finish in 3 years, with the exception that I overloading my course every semester for a sake of graduate one year earlier compare to normal duration. Your studies can be made between 3.5 years (under Accelerated Bachelor Program) - 4 years (normal duration).
For most engineering, and science, there are several type of course that you may need to take in order for you to graduate on Bachelor Degree in NTU. Such as:
1. Core Courses, which is basic compulsory module on your major that need to be take
2. Major PE, which is specific module on your major for your specialisation
3. GER-Core, General Education Requirement (GER) Core, supplementary module that assist working depends, it's all set specifically
4. GER Prescribed Electives, non-related major modules that you need to take there are Business & Management, Liberal Art, Science, Technology and Society
5. Unrestricted Electives, non-related major modules that you can take any module in NTU
Let's take example for Physics, whereby for 2019/2020 onwards, you are obligated to finish 135 AU during your bachelor studies, such as
1. Core Courses, 59 AU (45 AU for Physics + 14 Other Core)
2. Major PE, 28 AU (which for Applied Physics 5 AU/Pure Physics 4 AU + Final Year Project/Professional Internship 10/11 AU + specialisation module)
3. GER-Core, 18 AU
4. GER Prescribed Electives, 15 AU (Business & Management, Liberal Art, Science, Technology and Society, 3 AU each, and 6 AU additional)
5. Unrestricted Electives, 15 AU
Here is the normal preset modules:

And additional courses

In order to graduate you are compulsory to take Final Year Project (1 year, and doing study concurrently) or Professional Internship (1 semester full without attending class)
What's the specialisation for Physics?
Physics specialisation is called as Concentration, which there is 4 area such as Nanotechnology, Optical Technology, Semiconductor, Biophysics. SPMS will issue a certificate acknowledging completion of the concentration. From the table above, you can consider to clear the Major PE AU remaining into the concentration.
What's best use of UE?
UE (Unrestricted Electives) is a list of module that you can take from any department in NTU to explore variety of courses, there is some student who make use of UE to make it as Minor/SPMS Co-operative Education Programme (SPMS-CEP)
